Fair question. Here's the honest answer, in plain words.
The matching happens on your phone. When Roaminder needs to know what stores exist near you, it asks the server for a list of stores — and that request isn't logged, isn't stored, and isn't attached to a name, because there is no name. There's a random ID that means nothing to anybody. You never have to sign up — an account is optional, and only exists if you want your settings backed up or you want to share a list with somebody.
No location history. No movement profile. Nothing sold to anyone, ever. Your list lives on your device.
